Dynacord SONICUE 1.6

Dynacord SONICUE1 6 small

Dynacord has announced the new 1.6 version of SONICUE Sound System Software. SONICUE addresses the entire sound system and encapsulates Dynacord's core design philosophies of simplicity, clarity and transparency. Its unique interactive design provides a clear and comprehensive overview, making it quicker to set up, tune and operate all parameters of the sound system with minimum effort in real time. The new version delivers meaningful additions especially for IX Series amplifiers regarding DSP processing, third-party device integration and control hardware flexibility, further strengthening the value of the SONICUE ecosystem for installers and systems integrators.

The most significant addition in version 1.6 is the introduction of Automixer and Ducker functionality for the IX Series multichannel DSP networked power amplifiers. The Automixer uses the same gain-sharing algorithm as Dynacord's flagship MXE5-64 Matrix Mix Engine and is selectable across all inputs, with adjustable speed to suit many applications, ranging from houses of worship to conference environments. The Ducker allows music or other background sources to be attenuated automatically by microphone activity, triggered by any mix bus or input available as a sidechain source. Both functions are fully configurable within SONICUE and significantly increase the processing capabilities of the IX Series, allowing installers to deliver a compact, high-performance solution from a single amplifier without the cost and complexity of an additional DSP device.

SONICUE 1.6 also substantially expands the integration capabilities of the TaskEngine, which is found inside both the MXE5-64 Matrix Mix Engine and IX Series amplifiers. New protocol blocks for TCP, UDP, WebSocket and PJLink allow SONICUE to communicate directly with a wide range of third-party devices using standard IP-based commands. The PJLink block enables integrated projector control and status monitoring from within a SONICUE control panel, while dedicated blocks for the Visionary Solutions AV encoder/decoder units allow audio and video to be managed together through a single interface. Together, these additions enable SONICUE Control to serve as the primary control system in smaller installations, eliminating the need for a dedicated control device.

SONICUE Control is the panel viewer app within SONICUE Sound System Software, allowing customized system-wide control panels to be created via the SONICUE Panel Designer and operated from Windows, iOS and Android devices. With version 1.6, SONICUE Control can now run natively on Android-based hardware, including off-the-shelf tablets and touch panels. Two application variants are provided: an Install version for fixed touch panels, which mirrors the behavior of the TPC-1 hardware controller, and a Mobile version for tablets and smartphones, consistent with the existing iOS app. Both support Android 12 and higher and can be installed directly on off-the-shelf hardware, giving installers and their clients a cost-effective and flexible alternative to dedicated control panels.

Additional refinements in SONICUE 1.6 include the ability to change speaker modes without disconnecting speakers from the amplifier, and improved drag-and-drop support in the Panel Designer and TaskEngine for faster, more reliable programming. The software package also ships with five new demo projects covering a range of different installation scenarios. SONICUE 1.6 is available now as a free download via Dynacord’s homepage.
