HK Audio for Santiago de Chile Church
When the Chilean Army inaugurated the Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen (Our Lady of Mount Carmel) in July 2025, the event marked the consecration of the country’s first institutional church, serving as a spiritual home for service members and their families. With its soaring laminated wood arches, 14 stained-glass windows, and expanded 300-seat capacity, the new church was a symbol of faith and national identity, but it also presented a major acoustic challenge.
With a reverberation time of 4.5 seconds, even the most solemn words of the liturgy quickly became blurred, leaving parishioners disconnected from key moments of worship. To address this, Chilean HK Audio partner ProSound and distributor SETESA designed and installed a new sound system built around the HK Audio SI SERIES P10j.
The installation includes six SI SERIES P10j (white) and four IL 80-TW loudspeakers. The compact format meant the system could be integrated discreetly into the carefully restored architecture, while still delivering the power and coverage required to overcome the highly reflective space. From the front pews to the main entrance, every word now carries with clarity and balance.
“I’ve known HK Audio products for a long time,” said Alfonso Verdugo, Media Manager at ProSound Chile. “The precision of their construction, together with their predictive software, gives me confidence that every installation will perform exactly as projected. In this case, the result is clear - the officiant’s voice is heard throughout the church and every part of the liturgy can be understood.”
The response from the client was immediate. “They congratulated us on the excellent sound quality and the ease of use of the system,” Verdugo added. “For them, and for us as the provider and installer, the result has been excellent.”
