Bitwig rekordbox Integration
Bitwig has joined forces with AlphaTheta, maker of recordbox, to bridge two worlds of modern musical creation: DJing and music production. Bitwig Studio now offers an exclusive integration with rekordbox. As of version 6.1.4, Bitwig Studio can read the user’s rekordbox library and track analysis data, bringing an existing DJ music collection directly into the studio for editing, remixing, and inspiration. Coming this winter, Bitwig Studio will feature built-in stem separation, further expanding the possibilities of the integration – and opening up many more creative avenues.
Bitwig Studio, Producer, and Essentials now seamlessly integrate with the user’s rekordbox library on macOS and Windows. The rekordbox library can be navigated in Bitwig’s browser and searched and filtered by artist, file type, playlist, and more. Opening a track instantly creates a Bitwig project matching the track’s BPM and key. Hot Cues, song structure, and vocal positions are automatically shown, making it easy to build on musical knowledge developed from DJing. Thanks to the integration, users can quickly edit the structure of a track, rebuild its rhythm with BPM-matched loops, add new synth parts in the song’s key, and more.
AlphaTheta’s Studio Plan presents a smooth transition between DJing and music-making, and a production experience that’s uniquely tailored to DJs. The Studio Plan is a subscription service including Bitwig Studio Essentials, the compact Bitwig edition with all the crucial production tools. With powerful editing features and a suite of synths and effects, Bitwig Studio Essentials is the ideal environment to quickly adapt and remix songs, build new material with audio and MIDI clips, and dive into advanced production.
The Bitwig Studio rekordbox integration is out now in Bitwig Studio 6.1.4. It’s available to all Bitwig Studio, Producer, and Essentials users with an active upgrade plan. rekordbox ((version 6.x or later) must be installed on your computer. rekordbox is available on macOS and Windows – see AlphaTheta's website for more information. The AlphaTheta Studio Plan is out now, priced at $7/month or $72/year. It can be accessed through AlphaTheta's Studio License Manager application. For those keen to try music production but hesitant to invest in DAW software, the Studio Plan offers a 30-day free trial, followed by an affordable monthly subscription.
