HEDD Audio CTRL
HEDD Audio announces HEDD CTRL, a dedicated software platform that brings complete system control and transparent calibration to its MK2 monitors and BASS subwoofers. With the MK2 series, HEDD combined meticulous acoustic engineering with advanced digital signal processing to deliver sonic truth – a monitoring foundation that engineers can trust across projects and environments. CTRL takes this concept further, transforming the MK2 range from versatile monitors into a fully integrated monitoring system.
CTRL turns HEDD’s statement “Your monitoring, your rules” into a practical reality. It unifies every MK2 function in a single, intuitive interface, allowing engineers to prepare, fine-tune, and control their entire monitoring system from the listening position. From EQ, bass extension, shelving and desktop filters to CoP (Closed or Ported) modes and the HEDD Lineariser, every adjustment can be made in real time – with full visibility and without relying on automated processing. Profiles can be saved and recalled for different sessions, formats, or listening positions, ensuring consistent results across all setups. By providing direct, manual access to every parameter, CTRL returns knowledge and control to engineers, encouraging clarity and understanding in place of black-box automation.
In modern production, flexible system tuning has become a necessity. CTRL scales from a 2-channel setup to immersive environments of up to 250 speakers, giving engineers precise control over every element of their monitoring chain. Each speaker or group can be calibrated with a 10-band parametric EQ and per-speaker delay control to maintain accurate time alignment. System-wide phase linearisation between satellites and subwoofers ensures coherent behaviour across 2.1, surround, and immersive configurations. This transparent approach to calibration gives professionals confidence that what they hear is true – in every format and every room.
For HEDD, phase fidelity is not a detail but the foundation of sonic truth. Even without the Lineariser engaged, MK2 monitors deliver a neutral, reliable reference for critical listening. When the Lineariser is activated – now switchable directly within CTRL – this already accurate performance is refined even further, producing perfectly aligned phase response and a coherent direct sound before room reflections take over. CTRL also allows seamless switching between linear-phase mode for mixing and low-latency mode for tracking, maintaining consistent precision across workflows. CTRL is more than an interface between engineer and monitor – it is an extension of the MK2 system, built for modern studios that require flexibility and long-term reliability.
Thanks to CoP (Closed/Ported) technology, each speaker offers two distinct acoustic characters, providing the benefit of two monitor sets in one. And because CTRL is software-based, it can evolve over time – ensuring compatibility with new formats and workflows through future updates. Whether mixing in stereo or designing full immersive systems, CTRL preserves a consistent sonic identity across rooms, projects, and environments.
