Hybrid cables that combine both data and power lines in a single cable are used in a wide range of modern applications today. The new KLOTZ HC71PC25 hybrid cable has been specially developed for mobile use. It features a robust, highly flexible soft PVC outer jacket, making it ideal for connecting modern, computer-controlled devices and systems, both in demanding live environments and in permanent installations.
The flexible CAT7 cable connects components of digital audio networks such as Dante, CobraNet, and EtherSound, or transmits DMX control signals based on ArtNet®, MA-Net, or Pathport protocols. The HC71PC25 is also suitable for IT applications where both network connectivity and power supply are required. Thanks to its double shielding (aluminum foil + dense copper braid), the CAT7 cable enables interference-free transmission of high data rates up to 10 Gbit/s, even over long distances in electromagnetically challenging environments. The power line consists of three conductors made of bare, fine-stranded copper wire in accordance with IEC 60228, each with a cross-section of 2.5 mm². The conductors are insulated with high-quality PVC, ensuring reliable electrical properties and mechanical durability.
When a combined connector is used for both the power and CAT7 data line during the assembly of the HC71PC25, separate sheathing of the three power conductors can be omitted. This significantly simplifies integration into hybrid cable drum systems, reducing processing time and decreasing the overall cable diameter, which in turn allows for longer maximum cable lengths per drum.
