Tracktion Corporation announces the release of Waveform 14, the latest version of its award-winning digital audio workstation. The update introduces an LLM-driven AI Assistant, a greatly refined user interface, multi-channel audio routing, and expanded ARA2 support, all designed to help producers and musicians work more freely without compromising on professional capability.
Waveform 14's AI Assistant is deeply integrated into the DAW, offering contextual help and creative support without pulling focus away from the music. Ask functionality questions answered directly from the user manual, explore composition ideas, generate fresh MIDI sequences, or have the Assistant analyse existing clips and compose complementary parts. Unlike subscription-based AI tools, users choose their preferred model and pay as they go, with no additional recurring cost.
Version 14 arrives with a thoroughly refreshed interface. The lower properties panel has been removed in favour of new clip detail editors for quicker, more intuitive editing. A revised colour scheme, refined iconography, updated typography, an integrated title bar, and 18 user-definable colours create a workspace that's easier to scan and tailor to individual workflows.
The 2-channel cap has been lifted, bringing flexible multi-channel routing from capture through to final mix. Configure dedicated input and output device busses, record or import multi-channel audio files, and play back with the control required for surround, spatial audio, and advanced performance workflows. A dedicated mix bus, full plugin support, and expanded Rack routing keep complex productions moving.
ARA2 support has been significantly expanded for real-world production sessions. Any ARA-compatible plugin can now be used as a time-stretch mode, global and chord track information passes directly to ARA plugins, and clip looping, copy, and paste behaviour works correctly throughout arrangements.
