Yamaha CK76 Stage Keyboard & CK OS 2.0
For a few years now, the Yamaha CK series has enamoured musicians around the world with its versatile range of sounds and its clear control structure. The new CK76 plays into these strengths and expands the series with a model that sits right in between the already established CK88 and CK61. With the CK76 comes CK OS update 2.0, bringing new sounds and functionality to the entire range.
The Yamaha CK76 fills a space in the CK series that perfectly complements the other models. With its 76 semi-weighted keys it sits right in the middle of the range, both in terms of size and action. More compact and thus easier to transport than its larger sibling, it still delivers a comfortable playing feel and key feedback. Built-in speakers and the option to run on battery power turn the CK76 into a self-contained unit of musical expression.
Like the other models from the CK series, the Yamaha CK76 features a one-to-one control layout. Every single knob on the surface controls exactly one function, and every sound control is represented by a physical controller. No deep dive into menus and submenus to make changes to the sound – every aspect of adjustment is right there on the surface. This intuitive interface allows fast on-the-fly sound shaping and lets players easily integrate real-time adjustments into their performances.
The Yamaha CK series draws its sound library from the CP Stage Piano and YC Stage Keyboard series, guaranteeing top-quality, musical sounding instruments for all kinds of genres and styles. Acoustic and electric pianos, strings, brass, organs, and modern synthesizer sounds cover a wide range. With powerful effects from filters to saturation and modulation to delays and reverbs, every sound can be fine-tuned to perfectly fit the application and intended aesthetic.
All models of the CK family share the same sound library, but still address very different sets of requirements from musicians. The CK88 is the big one, with 88 weighted Graded Hammer Standard keys to provide the feeling of playing a full Yamaha grand piano. The CK61 features 61 FSB keys, whose action is closer to electric organs – hence, the CK61 is the most compact model in the range. The new CK76 sits right in between its siblings and satisfies players who want the expanded key range, but try to still stay as light and compact as possible.
Together with the new CK76, Yamaha also rolls out an OS update for the entire range that includes a clever functionality tweak and a number of new Live Set Sounds and Voices. New is the Advanced Split Mode, which lets players easily allocate Parts to specific sections of the keyboard. This new mode allows for more versatile setups and makes changing existing setups quicker and easier. CK OS 2.0 also comes with 16 new Live Set Sounds and four new voices, which focus on electric pianos and enhance the sound library in that regard.
The Yamaha CK76 is available immediately. A dedicated soft bag is also available. The update to CK OS 2.0 is available for free for all new and existing CK88, CK76 and CK61 models.
