Parallel Minds Atavism

Parallel Minds announces availability of Atavism, a spectral effect plug-in for VST3 and AU. Put it on a track, a bus or the master and turn one knob: the drums stop hitting, the chord keeps ringing, and what's left is a pad made of the song's own harmony. Because the pad comes from the audio itself, it stays in key and follows every chord change, with nothing to program or trigger. It isn't a reverb or a freeze, and nothing gets stretched: the song keeps its length and its place on the timeline.
Around the main knob, Pulsation adds a slow, irregular swell, Shimmer grows the octave above inside the pad, and Mix stays in time with the track. A low cut and a high cut act on the pad only. Eight factory presets include Wings, which sits the pad at 40% under the track it comes from, and Breathing, a drone that suits field recordings. All nine parameters can be automated, and every knob learns a MIDI controller. Latency is around 300 ms, compensated by the host, with a 170 ms Short mode for playing live through a send.
In a mix, Wings fills the space between the hits with the track's own harmony. In post-production, a cue becomes its own underscore in the same key, and the high cut keeps it clear of dialogue. In production, automating the knob over the last bar dissolves the drums into the chord.
Pricing and availability: Atavism is available for €29 until 24 October 2026, then €39. One-time purchase, one licence for macOS and Windows, offline activation with a key, no account. VST3 and AU for macOS 11 or later (Universal), VST3 for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). The demo is the full plug-in, with a two-second dropout at the end of every minute.
