By returning to the fundamentals of analogue circuitry, M2 is meticulously designed using best-in-class discrete components, producing a pristine signal path that keeps the noise low and vibes high while giving recordings the space and freedom to express their true warmth and clarity, no matter where or how its users choose to listen. It is built for those who shape sound with intention - from audio engineers and club selectors to high-fidelity obsessives. In its quest for supremacy, Cometa turned to a design-led collaboration with Swiss-born artist and ÉCAL-trained industrial designer Tobias Brunner. By doing so, the resulting product embodies a philosophy of craft, connection, and music, made tangible through its form. Its internal architecture was led by a well-respected Los Angeles-based electrical engineer and recording engineer, whose two decades in the studio and deep expertise in analogue audio design helped ensure that every detail - from the custom-machined aluminium knobs to the proprietary signal path featuring Cinemag transformers and WIMA Film Capacitors - deliver uncompromising sonic purity and intuitive physical interaction.

Digging deeper into M2’s majestic feature set seriously shows that the time and creativity collectively invested in collaboratively making the definitive design what it is was well spent. Anything audio related is obviously only as good as it sounds; it stands to reason, therefore, that M2’s Class-A discrete analogue circuitry-based custom signal path has been designed from the ground up to deliver ultra-low noise, maximum headroom, and a warm, transparent output.

Taking top panel centre stage, Cometa’s thoughtfully designed and expertly programmed proprietary VU (Volume Unit) meter features a whopping 390 LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), allowing all levels to be referenced within a single intuitive interface working in perfect harmony with carefully tuned analogue-to-digital conversion to provide a nuanced realtime sound visualisation. Line levels can be precisely set by visual reference while simultaneously monitoring program and house masters. Toggle through the preprogrammed ‘personalities’ with the click of a button - each ‘personality’ meeting the VU operation standard, so users can be assured that the resultant readings are accurate and reactive, regardless of which one is selected.

Meanwhile, M2 features dual TONE control, courtesy of a class-leading Pultec-style passive tonestack EQ - musical filters designed for playability and longterm listening, in other words. Ultimately, users can tailor their system to match their speakers and accentuate specific sounds to create unique blends between different tracks. The active FX (effects) SND (send) RTN (return) channels - PRE/POST push-button activated - allow anyone to add effects and boost sonic elements, effectively crafting their signature sound. Comforting to DJs especially is the fact that they can enjoy a refined headphone experience with an amplifier engineered for clarity, headroom, and accurate monitoring during mixes. And an adjustable MIC (microphone) VOL (volume) control means M2 users can customise audio capture from subtle whispers to powerful performances.
