Optimal Audio & Audio-Technica for Revellata Restaurant

Inspired by both Italian and Corsican food and architecture, Revellata bar and restaurant is located in Laval, western France and was created by restauranteur Rodolphe Laferrerie. Following the success of his previous establishment, Liberta in Le Mans, Laferriere engaged AV specialist EMS Le Mans to outfit Revellata’s stunning terraces and central bar. With the over-arching goal of delivering high-quality, uniform sound throughout, EMS’s Corentin Deleplancque turned to Audio-Technica and Optimal Audio for a complete end-to-end audio solution, from wireless microphone to speaker.

Le Revellata’s 700m2 floor space required no less than eight audio zones to be controlled by a simple-to-use system, with any member of staff able to manage levels and input selection etc. To that end, Deleplancque employed an Optimal Audio Zone 8 audio controller at the heart of the solution, with a quartet of SmartAmp 30 amplifiers powering 36 Cuboid speakers and a single Sub 10 subwoofer installed discreetly under the venue’s stage for live music performances.

Audio-Technica’s 3000 Series Digital wireless system was chosen as the microphone solution for Revellata, again due in part to its simple operation and Wireless Manager software, which allows for set-and-forget functionality. "The solution combining Optimal Audio and Audio-Technica was perfect for my client's needs,” says Deleplancque, explaining that, “OA is the first brand I discovered that offers a zone controller with a web interface. I had already installed a 4-zone matrix on another smaller project, and immediately thought of the Zone 8 for the bigger space at Revellata.

“The advantage of the solution we chose is its versatility, which allowed us to expand, modify or add elements that were not initially planned. As for the wireless microphone solution, the 3000 Series Digital system sounds great and has proved very easy to configure in a way that restaurant staff with no special training can use without issue.

“Beyond technical performance, this installation directly contributes to the customer experience,” concludes Deleplancque, “by helping to create an immersive atmosphere, seamless musical evenings and impeccable sound quality in every area. For hospitality professionals, it is proof that a well-designed sound system can become a true strategic asset to enhance their establishment.”
