Paul Kleber came to the upright bass through classical training and adapted his playing to jazz, pop and electronic music. A fixture of Berlin's jazz scene since the mid-1990s, with Jazzanova Live and the Moka Efti Orchestra among others, he has worked with Emilíana Torrini, Fink, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Nina Hagen. His timing makes him as much a groove player as a jazz player, and his lines carry the harmonic sophistication and fluidity that have made him a sought-after partner in the studio. His recordings, with their numerous variations, transitions, and endings, are a genuine enrichment for the Tonalic library.
