Soundmit is opening a new chapter in its history as it joins Cremona Musica, bringing a dedicated area for synthesizers, electronic musical instruments and music technology to the heart of the exhibition.
This new location represents far more than a change of venue. It creates an opportunity to connect different worlds that share the same passion for sound, design and outstanding craftsmanship: musicians, producers, engineers, makers, distributors, retailers, audio professionals and enthusiasts. Within Cremona Musica, Soundmit will become a meeting point between the tradition of musical instrument making and the latest developments in electronic music. Analogue and digital synthesizers, modular systems, controllers, music software, experimental instruments, audio design and high-quality listening solutions will come together in an area built around hands-on experience. Visitors will be able to meet manufacturers and designers, explore the technologies behind the products and, above all, try the instruments themselves. It will also provide international companies with a valuable opportunity to connect with the Italian market and reach a knowledgeable and diverse audience.
The 2026 edition will welcome several international companies to Cremona, some of them appearing before the Italian public for the first time. Among the exhibitors will be SYNTH-WERK, the German manufacturer specialising in 5U analogue modular synthesizers. Its systems continue the great tradition of modular synthesis, with meticulously built instruments designed for musicians, recording studios and collectors. Soundmit will also mark the Italian debut of MUSELEAD, a company focused on music software and applications, and EMUTELABS, a University of Sussex project that brings academic research, experimentation and emerging music technologies together.
Also appearing in Italy for the first time will be PIANO DE VOYAGE, with its modular and portable MIDI controllers. The project reimagines the digital piano for contemporary musicians, offering flexible, travel-friendly configurations without compromising the playing experience.
One of the central attractions of the Soundmit area will be the extensive Yamaha Showroom: 48 square metres dedicated to synthesizers, stage pianos, grooveboxes and music-production instruments. This will be much more than a conventional display. Visitors will be able to see and hear the instruments in action through live demonstrations by Manuele Montesanti and Mauro Di Ruscio, two musicians capable of revealing the creative potential of these instruments through performance. The showroom will provide a practical opportunity to explore different technologies, workflows and approaches to performance while speaking directly with musicians and product specialists.
SCHMIDT SYNTHESIZERS will present instruments from the final production batch of the Schmidt Synthesizer, one of the most ambitious and prestigious analogue polyphonic synthesizers ever created. Alongside the hardware instrument, the company will also introduce its new VST software version, bringing the Schmidt sound philosophy into the digital production environment.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the world of RHODES, one of the most influential names in the history of electromechanical instruments, distributed in Italy by Alphalab Audio. Its presence at Soundmit will allow musicians to reconnect with a sound that has shaped generations and musical genres and continues to inspire performers and producers today.
Soundmit 2026 will also broaden its focus to include recording, playback and high-quality audio reproduction. INTERPHASE AUDIO will showcase its professional studio consoles and present new products, giving visitors the opportunity to discover an Italian company specialising in the design of high-end audio equipment.
With JUBOX, technology and Italian design come together in an audiophile solution that integrates listening, interior space and furniture design. The project approaches the musical experience not only from a technical perspective, but also through the relationship between sound, environment and visual design.
GETILE AUDIO will present its software solutions for Hi-Fi streaming, developed for listeners seeking sound quality, advanced content management and integration with modern playback systems. Making its Soundmit debut will be DRIFT DJ INDUSTRIES, a company exploring new forms of control and performance in DJing and electronic music. Its participation brings a fresh perspective to the relationship between gesture, technology and live performance. The presence of Drift DJ Industries reflects Soundmit’s ambition to represent not only synthesizers in the traditional sense, but the entire ecosystem of contemporary electronic music creation.
Independent laboratories, designers and makers capable of turning ideas into real instruments have always been an essential part of Soundmit’s identity. FASELUNARE will present Cosmolab, a DIY project created for experimentation, education and the development of electronic music applications. Visitors will be able to try it in person and discover an open system designed to connect hardware development, creativity and learning.
ALPHALAB AUDIO will bring its experience in the repair and restoration of electronic musical instruments to Cremona. Its work plays an essential role in preserving synthesizers, drum machines, keyboards and other equipment that has shaped the history of music. With ALPHALAB AUDIO DESIGN, the focus will shift towards electronic music engineering, new product development and prototype creation for companies and brands in the music industry.
Among the most anticipated presentations will be THERESYN, showcasing the pre-production prototype of its namesake instrument as it moves closer to its final production version. Alongside Theresyn, a new prototype called THEREWAVE will also be unveiled, expanding the project’s exploration of gesture, interaction and alternative ways of controlling sound. Completing the journey will be EUTERPE SYNTHESIZERS LABORATORIES, a workshop dedicated to the design of analogue filters and Eurorack modules. Its presence will give modular synthesis enthusiasts the opportunity to meet the people behind the circuits and explore the relationship between electronic design and sonic results.
Soundmit arrives at Cremona Musica with the aim of creating a dynamic space where established companies, independent manufacturers, universities, designers and musicians can meet on common ground.
The opportunity to try instruments, speak directly with their creators and attend live demonstrations makes Soundmit more than a conventional trade exhibition.
