Tascam AP-10

Tascam announces the AP-10, a compact, two-channel announcement player for automated audio playback in commercial facilities, theme parks, airports, offices and other public environments. It integrates with external control systems, sensors, timers and signage via GPIO and LAN-based Open Sound Control (OSC), allowing playback to be triggered in a wide variety of ways.

The AP-10 offers a total of five playback modes, including binary playback, which supports up to 250 audio files for multilingual guidance and zone-specific announcements. Program playback plays audio in a preset sequence, for example for exhibition tours or work procedure guidance. Playback can be started and stopped manually on the unit or triggered externally.
The free Tascam Playlist Editor software allows operators to create playlists offline and adjust settings for individual files, including volume, intervals, trigger start delay and fade times. The AP-10 also supports remote control from tablets or PCs through OSC, allowing users to build and customise control surfaces with tools such as TouchOSC, which enables integration with video and lighting equipment.
Further features of Tascam’s announcement player include power-on play, ducking and dual-mono operation, which allows the left and right channels to be used as separate outputs. The unit comes in a rugged 1U half-rack metal chassis with a protective cover for the SD card, Euroblock cable holder and panel lock. Optional rack-mount and shelf-mount kits are also available.
